Directions to the Mt. 7 Deadly Sins Freak Compound
The arrows on the map below are where you are supposed to make your turns. If you get lost, just ask. The people in Golden are very friendly. If you want to get something to eat before you come up, go to the Dogtooth Cafe. It's behind the 7-11. Ask for specific directions.
1. Get on the Trans-Canada Highway (if you can't figure this out, then let's just forget it now)
2. Drive roughly 10 hours east from Vancouver or 3 hours west from Vancouver
3. Take the Highway 95 South exit. 95 runs right through Golden. The exit is a big overpass over the Trans-Canada highway
4. Follow the yellow route on the map. When you see the 7-11, then you are in the town of Golden. You can stop there and pick up the Globe and Mail and the National Post (Canada's two national papers) and a mixed-flavor slurpee.
5. Keep going and you will cross the Kicking Horse River. You cross it on an iron arch bridge. On the other side of the bridge, to your left is a small park. The road does an S-curve here and you will pass the local movie theatre on your left.
6. Take a left at the first light after you pass the movie theatre. This is 9th street.
7. Drive along 9th street. You will pass the Mad Trapper on your left. There is a beer and wine store here. Stop and park and buy some cold beer.
8. You will pass the some tennis courts and a basketball court on your right. Then you will pass the local high school. Take a right after the high school.
9. Continue straight on this road. It will turn into a steep hill with meshed in rock on your left. At the top of the hill, is a small subdivision. Keep going straight. There is an "intersection" here where the paved road turns left and the road you are on becomes unpaved. Keep going straight so you get off the paved road. Already you are feeling freer as you have taken your first step off of the grid. But be careful, man!
10. Go along the dirt road until you come to another "intersection" where you can make a left turn onto the Mt. 7 Forest Service Road. This is an even dirtier dirt road. Don't spin out and drive mellowly. Mountain bikers ride up this road and it sucks for them if you kick up a lot of dust if it's dry. Also, trucks can be coming around blind corners.
11. Go up this road 2.3 clicks. There is a gate on the left hand side. That's Mt. 7 Deadly Sins Resort driveway! Get on it and now you can haul some ass up the switchbacks. But if you mess up the corners, Robson will kick your ass!
